Study on a Digital Program for Quitting Tobacco
Study Overview
The Cessation Clinicall Trial will investigate the effectiveness of a digital quit tobacco program in promoting abstinence from tobacco product use compared to usual care.
Eligibility Criteria
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Tobacco Use Cessation

Age: 18 years or above

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:
- Current tobacco use (past 30-day use of one or more of the following: cigarettes, cigars, little cigars, cigarillos, e-cigarettes, or oral nicotine products)
- US residence
- Active text message plan (phase 2 only)
Exclusion Criteria:
- Age 25 or above (phase 2 only)
This study investigates the effectiveness of a digital program designed to help people stop using tobacco products. Tobacco products include items like cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and other nicotine products. The goal is to compare this digital program to the usual care methods given to people who want to quit using tobacco.
Participants in the study will be involved in a digital program that uses text messages to support their efforts to quit using tobacco. They will receive regular messages that provide guidance and encouragement to maintain abstinence from tobacco products.
- Who can participate: Individuals who currently use tobacco products, live in the US, and have an active text message plan are eligible to participate. For phase 2, participants must be under the age of 25.
- Study details: Participants will engage with a digital program that sends supportive text messages aimed at assisting them in quitting tobacco. The program will be compared to usual care practices for quitting tobacco.
